preparing for the GMAT....

uggh...
I am actually studying. What a drag. I am so out of practice for this sort of thing, that is why I am blogging now, therapy.
If you have any FREE materials that are good study aids, let me know. I need all the practice I can get.

June 13th is the day. Think I will make it? It is going to be tough these next two weeks.

Gaelic exposure

Arrived safely back to Eindhoven this evening. I am truly a blessed person and totally appreciate the opportunity to travel as frequently as I do. I DO NOT take it for granted.

First look at the Temple Bar of Dublin.

Second look at Dublin (Club M) A sweet discoteque in the Temple Bar of Dublin. I learned the definition of a Hen party. Where is Chuck? Come on!!! English birds from Chester!

A look from the Dublin city tour bus.

Temple Bar by day

Seaside 30 minutes on the train (the DART) from Dublin

Club M night number two. This is an "expat" too. A social worker from Miami now working in London. Very interesting person. She thought I was Latin!! I said, "i was called Papichulo once, does that count?" We talked about self interspection and both of us trying to extend our stays in Europe and stuff and then finally got her to dance a bit. She said, that for a gringo, I could dance pretty good.

This is one is for, you know who!!! (if you don't, sorry, check some of the reactions)

A local from Cork! Sorry forgot her name...

Irish wisdom. In Cork

Marketing...good distribution channels...and a good product (Outside St. James Gate, Dublin)

Ireland is a gem and so are the people. I picked up a book on the history of Ireland. What I read so far on the train ride to Cork is eye opening. I knew some history, but the details get glossed over often.

I think the best thing I heard was from a guy in Cork, he said, "where you from mate? " I said, "Cleveland." He said, "ohhh america!, Yeah, we went there once. Now it is time for you to come here!" The economy is booming, construction is everywhere. The skyline is full of cranes in Dublin. The city of Cork seems to be getting a make over.

In Cork, I saw the movie DaVinci Code. I thought it was an entertaining movie. Particularly because I had been to most of the locations in question. You see, back in 2002, I went to Scotland and then got a layover in London on a different trip. But back to the Scotland trip. Before I got on the plane, I saw this documentary on the Arch of the Covenent resting location, just by chance I saw it like a day before we left for the trip. So, I said, Let's go to Rosslyn Chapel. We did. Very interesting place indeed. I picked up a book there at the chapel gift store. Titled simply, The Knights Templars. It was a thorough history of the Knights and the crusades of the holy lands. Anyway, because I was reading the book when I got delayed in London for like 7 hours, the first place I wanted to go was to the Temple in London. The Knights Templars temple.
My mom had already been reading the book the DaVinci Code and she told me I should read it too. I started reading it but found the topics overlaying with the Knights Templars book, so me , preferring non fiction, i went with the history lesson.

Anyway, If anyone of you all want to discuss any of the many topics covered in the film, send me an email. It is actually one of my, past favorite subjects.

In Cork, Ireland!!!

Sunday afternoon in Cork. Just arrived for one night and will return to Dublin tomorrow and catch the flight back to Eindhoven in the afternoon.
Dublin was great!! We stayed in the Temple Bar area at a hostel right down the street.
We went out to the club called club M. Totally sweet!! Ran into a bunch of Hen parties, we have photos later.
Saw the Guiness factory, but no tour. We took the city tour on the bus, very nice.

Yes, the Guiness does taste better here.

Anyway, booked a hostel online last night in Dublin and now i am in Cork.
I am going to go wander around a bit and enjoy the local sights.

See you all on later!!

cheers

chillin on Ascension Thursday..

No work today! Nice.
No new pics, so this one is from Den Bosch. On the main street from the railway station.

CD burning party today!

Who wants some music?

This friday night, I am going to Dublin, I thought I had to work, but I don't. Just have to enjoy Eindhoven. By the way, Eindhoven is pretty sweet. I didn't like it initially but it really grew on me. It is a great place to go out, Sober would actually love it. I mean a few weeks ago the champions league final match was great, a huge party on the square. Like tail gating with no "golf ball game". Plastic cups of beer included! Then the match between Sevilla and a team from the UK was great to be apart of the fan base on the square. Even though there was a controversial referee call on the goal keeper, it was still a great match to me.

Now the World Cup Begins, and the theme song this year is "Love Generation" by Bob Sinclar. Anyone that doesn't know this song, check it on itunes or your favorite downloader. It has been the hit of europe this year from Beograd to Amsterdam and down to Barcelona it is a great tune.

much love to all!

train and reading books

So far in the last two weeks since my license is no longer valid, I have read two books and starting the third.

I prefer non-fiction. So here are the titles. Bosnia a short history by Noel Malcom Fences and Windows by Noemi Klien
and I started that book Strange Sounds from a few months ago. It is about art , culture and technology. I think it is intended for a science and technology course at some university, maybe columbia??

Anyway...

The Bosnia book was so insightful. Anyone making comments about the war that took place there in the 90's should read this one first before spouting off random comments.

Fences and Windows is about the protests against the WTO and her view on it. Very nice it reads like the movie the Corporation, small short little journal entries that tie together in the end.

enjoy the day, even in the rain!!

How to get flock to stop talking politics.

This pic is for BTB, actual cycling. Yes, that is a sandwhich in my mouth. Tom says that was the only way he could shut me up. LOL! Yeah, cause I kept on him why his leader in Washington is such an ingrate and "gee, if we actually designed policies at Federal level that would encourage people growth and trade instead of just corporate and material goods trade, gee that might encourage more free movement of people, which in turn could assist in economic growth and sustainability." Needs of the people as priority while considering needs of commerce. It is not an equation. False statement, Commerce good = People good. Caveats are a plenty. So we need leadership that can account for these not just by making war or annexing another territory, but in considering the big picture for the good of the majority. That is exactly what is not happening now in the political circles in Washington. Here are some examples, Stop the war in Iraq! Build domestic Infrastructure!!! Use the fake money that is financing the bombs over Bagdad and buid some stuff, uhh dams, trains, fix the roads in the cities!! The public school system in the poorer communities.
My last full tank of Euro 95, rough equivalent to BP 89 grade, cost me 72 euro that is in a 12 gallon tank. Ok, If you want to talk about commerce begin with considering the total cost for goods on the market. For instance, electricity in Cleveland roughly costs 05 cents/kwH. That electricty is generated mainly in coal or nuclear power plant. That same kwH costs .15 to .20 cents, last I checked, summer 05 , for electricity from wind energy. At that rate, it is an an economic no brain choice. How about our leaders in Washington actually design laws that consider the total cost of the products we purchase.
The US is turning into a place that no longer produces anything, but consumes everything. Turning, it already is like that, sorry.
There is another way to run the business and governing of the country and it fully lines up with the global market economy.
One thing I want to be clear with everyone. I am not , repeat not, anti-american!! Here that!! Yes, I hope so. Because when I return to Cleveland sometime in the future, yes, I am going to be commenting about the things of Europe. But I don't just want to talk, I want action. The mantra of consumption to promote growth of the USA, is an old one. It is outdated and doesn't fit anymore. Shop because you want to, not as an action of national security or a directive from Washington. Empowered and independent people are the best consumers and truly make democratic choices which in turn will reflect in moving the market.
Now you see why tom shoved the sandwhich in my mouth!! hahahaa, LOL!!
enjoy your day people

May and summer is here!!

Climb a hill and stop for rest. Tom, Nick, Daan and I
